200 Park Avenue - The Met Life Building
New York, NY 10166

The Met Life Building (formerly The Pan Am Building) is one of the largest commercial office buildings in New York City. It encompasses 59 stories where the tower floors are about an acre each (40,000 sq ft - 46,000 sq. ft.) and several of the base floors are over 100,000 sq. ft. each. This massive office building is home to a number of large law firms due to its excellent location in Midtown and proximity with direct escalator access to Grand Central Station. Additionally the building has a particularly high fenestration ration, with windows on 4 sides so it allows a large number of windowed perimeter offices. Also because the floors are so massive it allows a large firm to keep a lot of employees on a single level in the building or several ..

Murray Hill Facts

Murray Hill is a Manhattan neighborhood with boundaries between First Avenue and Madison Avenue, east to west.  It runs north to south from 42nd Street to 34th Street and this area encompasses a large number of commercial office buildings between Third and Madison Avenues. There is considerable overlap between the Murray Hill and Grand Central neighborhoods.

The neighborhood is largely residential, east of Third Avenue with many townhouses, and a plethora of new residential high -ise construction.  Great restaurants abound, with every amenity one would expect at close hand.  “Korea Town” and “Curry Hill” are 2 areas with high concentrations of ethnic populations, businesses and restaurants at street level.

Shared professional office space rentals are concentrated between Third Avenue and Madison Avenue and rental rates rise as you move towards the north west boundary at 42nd Street and Madison Avenue.  There are several buildings in the Murray Hill / Grand Central area that still cater to small tenants, including:
